It’s before fifty years when a revolution in electronics occurred, the invention of microchips. Jack Kilby of Texas Instruments on September 12, 1958 displayed the first working microchip; it consists of a transistor and other components joined to it. Kilby was a fresh engineer at Texas instruments; he thought that developing the circuit components in to a single of semiconductor material could be the solution for problem’s in circuit design. On September 12, he displayed it to the Texas instruments management. He showed them a piece of germanium with an oscilloscope attached to it, which showed a continuous sine wave signal when switch is pressed. This clearly proved the working of his integrated circuit (IC), and his invention virtually helped to create the modern computer industry, now we can’t imagine any electronic items without microchips.
